Due to popular demand Transcend, Tom French’s retrospective at Unit London, will be extended until the 7th March.
Tom’s work is concerned with art’s potential to confound the senses, to trick the mind by offering a myriad of visual interpretations. His monochromatic, photorealist paintings tread the border between figuration and abstraction, inhabiting a swirling psychological landscape as well as material space. They are comprised of technically tight charcoal drawings, occasionally enhanced with acrylics, oils, spray paint and even gold leaf.
We would also like to remind our followers of the Justgiving page set up to help support Tom’s family in the wake of his passing; the kindness and generosity shown thus far has been truly incredible, and we would like to thank you all for your moving messages and donations.
