Transcend, Tom French’s retrospective at Unit London, will close at 7pm on Saturday March 7th – it has been a truly exceptional show, drawing in art lovers from around the world. As the show closes, so too will the Justgiving page we set up for Tom’s family; the kindness and generosity shown by members of the Unit London community thus far has been incredible, we would like to thank you all for your donations and messages. Tom’s work is concerned with art’s potential to confound the senses, to trick the mind by offering a myriad of visual interpretations. His monochromatic, photorealist paintings tread the border between figuration and abstraction, inhabiting a swirling psychological landscape as well as material space. They are comprised of technically tight charcoal drawings, enhanced with acrylics, oils and spray paint.
