Gori Mora

B.1992 Based in Glasgow, UK

Introduction

Gori Mora’s artworks delve into the impact of technology on social interactions, self-perception and intrinsic values such as love, sexuality and desire. His work often features hybridised bodies and intimate scenes, blending classical portraiture with contemporary, virtual spaces to comment on how digital communication shapes human connection. This approach reflects his interest in the intersections of desire, technology and the human form. His focus on the overlap between cosy interiors and outdoor nighttime scenes considers the idea of “safe spaces” as a central theme. He revisits queer history and utilises it as a lens through which to see his own identity. In essence, Mora’s work speaks to the innate human desire for intimacy and connection where – for some – the personal becomes political.
