To mark their two-year anniversary, Nassima Landau Art Foundation is staging a Unit London take-over of their Tel Aviv art space. Presenting an expansive group exhibition that showcases 22 leading artists from our international roster, the project aims to create a bridge between Tel Aviv and London.
Since its inception, Unit London has sought to connect the public with some of the world’s most innovative talent. We promote works of art on a meritocratic basis through a constantly evolving and dynamic exhibition programme. Equally, Nassima Landau, the first art space of its kind in Tel Aviv, is dedicated to providing a platform for the highest standard of international contemporary art in Israel.
A selection of highlights from the artist presentation include Seth Armstrong, whose paintings explore residential neighbourhoods in Los Angeles. His works, characterised by harmonious colour palettes and inspired by Impressionism, visualise the interplay between light and shadow. Belgian artist Kristof Santy’s vibrant artworks are influenced by folk art and customs, finding freedom in the expressive painting of everyday surroundings. Ziping Wang’s artworks are brimming with colourfully fragmented configurations, combining consumer imagery with references to Old Master works to comment on our visually saturated contemporary society. Nigerian artist Emma Odumade’s mixed media works explore themes of birth, life and identity through the use of black tea which is consumed in many Nigerian homes. In her recent work, Etsu Egami focuses on the way that communication has become more complex in light of the diversity of human exchanges. She uses the symbol of the rainbow to represent the path from our limited perspective to a vision of a deeper reality.

Founders
Steeve has been collecting contemporary art since the age of 21. His vast and diverse collection took off with his early acquisitions of works by Yayoi Kusama. Today Steeve is widely considered a leading expert in works by Kusama in addition to a much wider knowledge of the contemporary art market in general. Steeve is also an active supporter of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art and the Batsheva Dance Company.
Former Director and Chief Curator of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art and the Chief Curator of Fine Arts at the Israel Museum, Jerusalem, Landau lives and breathes contemporary art. While establishing and building the contemporary art department in Jerusalem, Landau identified and acquired works by that time young artists who were just at the beginning of their career and therefore in a low-price category, such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Damien Hirst, and Maurizio Cattelan among others.
