Biographies
Shir Pakman is a visual artist, 3D designer, and animator based in Tel Aviv. Her work is often inspired by classical art and explores the possibilities of 3D software to materialise the bridge between 2D and 3D spectrums.
An artist who lives and works in Tel Aviv, Israel, Pakman’s memorable aesthetic immediately strikes as holding deep meaning and significance. Combining thoughtful concepts related to a varied set of ideas across the female gaze, canonical art, and nature and humanity, Pakman brings these together into a holistic whole on the digital surfaces of her works. Bridging the expansive gap between traditional art genres and contemporary digital practices, Pakman’s artworks represent idiosyncratic renderings of peaceful and sensitive figures caught between digital and physical worlds. Pakman draws inspiration from the study of art and painting, particularly portraiture, which remains evident throughout her digital creations. Turning to Autodesk Maya, her favoured 3D program with many of her works, Pakman alternates between texture and lighting, adding dimensionality and character to the works she creates. Her unique style serves as a blend between classic art, portraiture, and digital techniques. From 2013 to 2017, Pakman attended the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem and earned a degree in Screen Based Arts. Past clients of Pakman include Google, Microsoft, Wix, and The New Yorker, among other monumental media agencies worldwide. Her Graduation Film was featured in festivals around the world and she remains a strong global presence within the realm of the digital art community.
