A shape-shifting figure emerges, sculpted by sound. “She” reflects on the language of frequencies and form and combines live performance with coded audio-reactive elements. The visual output is generated by frequency data and could be interpreted as a self-portrait that echoes the emotions, sensations and memories that sound can invoke. The artwork is further manipulated in real-time using a MIDI controller, adding a performative layer to the process. The audio is created using generative systems in Ableton Live and is designed by Eaton Crous. The animations in each iteration are inspired by the ritual of dance and how we express ourselves and visualise what we hear through the movement of our bodies.
